Clarissa was born and lives in London, but both of her parents are Malaysian, and both sets of grand-parents still live here in Malaysia...this was her first trip to visit everyone here, and I got to spend the morning with the family at Putrajaya Botanical Gardens, to give them a really special keepsake of Clarissa's first time in her parents' home country.
Becky, Sophie and Issy grew up in Singapore, but now all live in the UK, while their parents now live here in KL. The girls are spread all over the UK too, so it's a rare thing for them all to be in the same place at the same time. Whilst they were all here on holiday, their parents asked me to capture some pictures of them all together, which I did, all whilst having a great time getting to know them.
I'm pretty sure that I get the most fun clients. Perhaps it's written somewhere on my site that I'd not realised, that says I only want the best families to shoot? Because I have really been on a run recently, having shoot after shoot with great, brilliantly fun families. The Monks were no exception to that. We played, we ran around, we sang christmas carols and we read stories, and I had a brilliant time photographing all of it, which I think shows in their photographs.
Following our breakfast in Bangsar, we jumped in the car and had a little walk in the Lake Gardens. It was actually raining at the time (thanks KL rainy season), but that didn't stop the light from being gorgeous, and us capturing some beautiful, fun shots together. Tanya and Troy (and little Jai of course) were so relaxed and chilled out, and were not afraid to try anything I suggested, however ridiculous it may have seemed(!), and I think that comes through in the photographs...
