Can you tell me more about what a shoot with you involves?

I absolutely can - just follow this link and you'll find everything you need to know about what a shoot with me is like.

What time are your shoots?

As you will know, it gets hot and bright very early here in KL. For that reason I tend to schedule my shoots early in the morning, to make sure that you don’t get too hot and sticky, and to catch the perfect KL morning light. For indoor shoots, especially with newborns, we can be much more flexible with the timings.

I am pregnant; when should I book my maternity/newborn sessions?

As soon as you've decided that you'd like to go ahead with your session with me, do get in touch, as I tend to book up quite far in advance. For maternity sessions, the ideal time is around 34-36 weeks, as your bump will be blooming, but you won't quite have reached the stage where you feel heavy and tired. For newborn, the shoot ideally needs to be within 14 days of the birth if you want the sleepy baby images...after that time, babies tend to wake up and be much less curled, and much less inclined to sleep whilst being moved around! We will book your newborn for an approximate date based on your due date, and then once baby has made their appearance we can firm up the exact date. If for whatever reason you are outside of the recommended time frames don't worry at all - we can still make it work - just get in touch and we will make a plan!

Can we order prints and albums?

I am a firm believer that pictures belong on walls and in albums, not on hard drives that one day might not even be accessible (anyone remember floppy disks?). For that reason, I have worked hard to source the highest quality prints available here in KL, so that you can have your images where they should be - on your walls. These prints are on guaranteed archival quality, museum grade papers meaning that, unlike cheaper prints, they will never fade or change colour. I am calibrated with my printer, so your images in print look exactly how they are intended to look. The albums I use are hand made in the U.S. and are an ideal way to have something special to remember your shoot by. You are in no way obligated to print through me, but if you do choose to use your high-resolution files to print elsewhere, please be aware that I cannot guarantee the colour or quality of the prints.

How soon after my session will I be able to see my images?

You will receive your full online gallery within 3 weeks of the shoot (and I always try to give a 'sneak-peek' too, so that you can see how fabulous your images are looking). Your chosen digital files will be available to download immediately when you receive your gallery, direct to your computer. Prints and products will be delivered approximately 2-3 weeks after you place your order (but sometimes can be expedited if necessary).

WHEN DO WE NEED TO MAKE PAYMENT?

All booking require the 500RM non-refundable retainer paid at time of booking in order to hold your slot (this can always be rescheduled due to illness or other mutually agreed reason). Until the retainer is received, I cannot guarantee the date for you. The outstanding balance should be paid in full no later than ONE WEEK prior to the session.

Ok, I'm ready - How do I book my session?

Just send me an email at clare@clarebarkerwells.com to let me know when you would like your shoot. Once we’ve agreed a date, I will forward a booking form and give you all the information you need to transfer your deposit to hold your session. I do get booked up well in advance, so it is best to book early where possible.
